About Crista Polich

Crista Polich is not your typical motivational speaker… thank goodness!  She’s funny, insightful and unapologetically raw.

  • Her reputation for energetically taking on the most challenging of topics (Death, Divorce, Diagnosis, and Disaster) with refreshing humor and candor makes her a crowd favorite.
  • Crista openly incorporates stories about her own life and the personal tragedies she’s faced which enables her audiences to develop a deeper connection with her.
  • Though Crista never claims to have all the answers, her entertaining style and blunt approach to life always leaves audiences wanting more.
  • Topics discussed are as diverse as:
    • The preparation process for life-altering events, such as death, divorce, diagnosis, or other disasters.
    • Road map strategies and organizational dos, and don’ts from Crista’s personal experience
    • How taking a few small steps can create peace and clarity amongst chaos
    • How taking control of your financial house creates emotional freedom for you and your loved ones
    • Crista’s emotional story about abuse and mental illness and the effects of these on your family

Crista’s Bio

Crista Polich is a public speaker, author and most importantly, a survivor.

After living for years in an abusive marriage, Crista summoned up the strength to end that unhealthy relationship.  She had just launched their youngest child off to college when she and her husband decided to get divorced. She knew it would be a challenging season, but little did she know what laid ahead.  Only three and a half weeks later, Crista suddenly found herself a widow. Her husband had committed suicide. Because she had been a stay-at-home mom for most of her marriage, she found herself completely unprepared and overwhelmed for what life had now presented her. However, Crista did not sit idle. She began reclaiming her life one step at a time. She started tackling the tough stuff and now she helps others do the same.

She is the author of the captivating memoir Admitting Abuse: You might not get over it, but you will get through it. She engages audiences and is a powerful informational speaker. A few years ago, she started her own consulting business helping people be more prepared in the event of an unexpected tragedy. In addition, Crista is committed to helping widows and widowers less fortunate than she, which inspired her to start a non-profit ministry called Widows Without through Bridges US (bridgesus.org).

Crista is candid, encouraging, and blunt about how she turned her tragedy into triumph and now she’s committed to helping others do the same.

As she says, “I’m not bashful about telling people, don’t wait to get your sh*t together!”

Crista Polich’s story illustrates the power of human potential. After her experience, she knew her purpose is to help us all to make it easier for our loved ones in the event of what she calls the Four Ds: Disaster, Diagnosis, Divorce, or Death. For me, Crista is an inspiration and role model of how to not just get your shi*t together, but to live a full and happy life. Since I’ve read her book, I now have an organized file cabinet where all the important papers go. It helps to know I’m ready for anything.

I turned to Crista Polich Consulting when I was going through my divorce. With a level head and professionalism, Crista helped me gather and prepare important financial documents, as well as documents that were vital for making the divorce process much more smooth. Not only that, I now have all my documentation prepared for my children if or when any other emergency or tragedy were to happen in my life. Thanks Crista. Being prepared was the best thing I could have done for myself and my family.

Crista is an absolutely exquisite speaker.  She commands a room, is incredibly relatable, brings you into her story, and brings dry humor you won’t forget.  There’s no doubt why this powerhouse is a sought out speaker and I’ll always be in the front row ready for the genius soundbites she delivers.

Crista opened my eyes.  I learned that I truly was not as prepared for “the worst,” even though I thought I was.  She told her story with such vibrant energy, it made me want to act.  I would love to hear Crista speak again.

My husband and I own a business together and each of us run different departments. After talking with Crista, she "opened my eyes" to the fact that we never discussed how our business would function in the event of a tragedy or illness. When my husband became ill unexpectedly, I remembered Crista's wise words of being prepared and realized I needed to learn "the other side" of our business. Crista is organized, thorough, and trustworthy. After working with Crista I feel more empowered as a woman knowing that I could do everything and I feel more at peace in case any other crisis should afflict our family.

Crista has taught me the importance of being prepared for the unexpected. She encouraged me to gather and organize important documents, passwords, and other information that I didn't previously have or know that I needed. She's extremely compassionate and provides priceless resources and support. I'm beyond grateful for all of the knowledge she has shared and I feel confident, protected and prepared for whatever the future brings.

Even though my husband and I worked with an attorney to put together our family trust, Crista brought up additional items that were important to think about that we never would have considered. Crista prepared us to think about things that we would not have thought of ourselves and helped us navigate how to get those things taken care of. Crista's experience and knowledge of preparing for a loss really helped us to finalize our wishes for the future of our family. Her kind heart and her willingness to be of help to people are truly remarkable.

I am a procastinator of olympic proportions, but I knew that if I’d be gone tomorrow, I’d leave an unholy mess behind. Thank you Crista for what you do! There are so many details that are easily overlooked! Now I sleep much better, knowing that my affairs are in order.
